Stamp, the Stamford Mentoring Partnership
STAMP, the Stamford Mentoring Partnership was established in the
fall of 2005. It is a collaborative of ROSCCO and six other
community based organizations under the direction of the Mayor's
Youth Service Bureau in Stamford, CT.
The mission of
STAMP is to improve the self-esteem and attitudes of the youth
involved. The good news is that mentoring is two directional.
While helping a young person, the mentor benefits as much if not
more from this wonderful experience.
Mentors are initially
asked to make a one year commitment. This is includes meeting
with a mentee one hour each week on site at the Boys & Girls
Club or at an after school ROSCCO school site. Mentors who have
connected with their mentee in a relationship based on trust and
confidence will be encouraged to continue mentoring as long as
possible. If you are interested in being a mentor, please
contact Ruth Haendler,
(203) 977-4792 for more information.
